"Summer Stillness" — Wendy Brightbill
From the collection "The Way Flowers Remember"

A lush, full bouquet blooms against a soft sage and celadon ground, its jewel-toned roses in plum, crimson, and hot pink clustered together like a garden caught mid-bloom. Cool accents of periwinkle and lavender weave through the composition, balancing the richness of the deeper reds and magentas, while soft greens carry the eye down toward a loosely suggested vase.

There's a quiet confidence to this piece — the palette is bold, but the overall feel is calm and gathered, like the stillness of a summer afternoon with flowers freshly cut and arranged. Brightbill's layered, textural brushwork rewards a closer look, revealing depth and movement within each bloom.

Oil and acrylic on wrapped canvas, 16" x 20" x 2.5" — ready to hang, no frame required.

-Wendy Brightbill began her creative journey after a car accident rewired her brain. Painting and making a mess with paint allowed her to embrace the process and stay present in the moment. God used art to bring healing to a fractured brain: a real-life beauty-from-ashes story. Painting with bright, vibrant colors lifted her depression and allowed Wendy to build a creative life that she never knew existed.

Wendy is a native of Colorado and resides at the picturesque base of Pikes Peak. She is married to her friend and biggest supporter, Brannan. Together they have three beautiful daughters!
