The Way Flowers Remember - Wendy Brightbill
The Way Flowers Remember - Wendy Brightbill
"The Way Flowers Remember" — Wendy Brightbill
Title piece of the collection
Set outdoors in dappled garden light, this bouquet of pink roses, deep magenta ranunculus, and violet blooms feels almost caught in motion — as if painted in the very moment the flowers were gathered. A soft blue sky and hazy green garden dissolve into the background, with hints of an outdoor setting (perhaps a trellis or patio chair) glimpsed through the foliage. Brightbill's brushwork is at its loosest and most alive here, letting color and light take precedence over hard edges.
As the piece that lends its name to the whole collection, this work feels like the heart of it all — a reflection on memory, growth, and the way flowers hold a moment in time long after it's passed. Sun-warmed, nostalgic, and quietly joyful.

-Wendy Brightbill began her creative journey after a car accident rewired her brain. Painting and making a mess with paint allowed her to embrace the process and stay present in the moment. God used art to bring healing to a fractured brain: a real-life beauty-from-ashes story. Painting with bright, vibrant colors lifted her depression and allowed Wendy to build a creative life that she never knew existed.
Wendy is a native of Colorado and resides at the picturesque base of Pikes Peak. She is married to her friend and biggest supporter, Brannan. Together they have three beautiful daughters!
